I don't know about anyone else but I naively believed that SIDS only happened in movies, was caused by suffocation and would never happen to me.
Wasn't I wrong?
I was surprised to learn so much about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) that I was so misinformed about before.
SIDS is not suffocation. Bumpers in your crib do not cause SIDS. Blankets do not cause SIDS. Belly sleeping does not cause SIDS.
SIDS cannot be prevented. Babies who die of SIDS cannot be revived. You can reduce the RISK of SIDS. But SIDS can even happen if you are holding your baby in your arms.
